Group Classes

Thinking about group classes? Great! Here are a few things you should know:

  1. Most group classes are six (4 to 6) weeks long and meet one time per week on Saturdays.
  2. Most adult dog classes are limited to six (6) dogs. Fearful dog classes are limited to four (4) dogs.
  3. Puppy Kindergarten is 60 minutes and allows for playtime and socialization as well as time to cover important puppy skills, topics, & questions.
  4. Class participants are welcome to contact me between classes with questions about their dogs.

Puppy Classes

  • Puppy Kindergarten
    • Classes meet Saturdays Call to register.
    • This class is for puppies up to 20 weeks of age.
    • We will cover coming when called, quiet attention, wait, socialization, preparing for grooming and vet visits, away (AKA leave it), drop it, loose leash walking, and more.
  • Puppy First Grade
    • Classes meet Saturdays Call to register.
    • Designed for puppies who have recently completed a puppy clicker training class.
    • We will take everything learned in puppy class to next level of training skills including coming when called, quiet attention, practical family dog skills, distance downs, and loose leash walking, greetings, and more. We will also have some time for puppy play as long as the group can play well together.

Adult Dog Classes

  • Family Dog Manners
    • Classes meet Saturdays. Call to register.
    • Designed for family dogs of 5 months and over going into their first class.
    • This is a beginner skills class for adult dogs that includes practical family dog skills everyone needs and skills that could potentially be life saving for your dog. We will cover coming when called, quiet attention, down, wait, away (AKA leave it), drop it, loose leash walking, and more.
  • Fearful Dog Class
    • 6 weekly in-person sessions plus weekly conference calls.
    • No dogs at the first class.
    • This class is for dogs that are ready to try a very quiet controlled new location with every accommodation possible to help the dogs adjust to the environment. There is a lot of individual attention to your dog’s unique needs.
    • Call to discuss whether this is the right class for your dog and be added to the waitlist.

Puppy and Adult dog classes are held at Lucky Dawg Daycare, 1124-A Calle La Resolana, Santa Fe, NM.
